7th-graders requesting 8th-grade elective classes use THIS LINK ...until Aug. 1st

... After Aug. 1st, please email your student's counselor for class requests. Most requests can be accommodated until the 1st day of classes. Only necessary class changes will be permitted after classes have started.

Class requests are used to build the Master Schedule and student schedules. Students may not receive all classes requested, but we sure try.

6th
Elective class choices for new 6th grade students are normally limited to music classes such as Band, Orchestra, and Choir. Students express interest in music classes in 5th grade. Then, parents will be contacted by a music teacher or district representative to confirm. All other 6th grade classes are assigned automatically. Of course, parents are welcome to meet with a UMS counselor to discuss a student's specific needs.

7th and 8th
Elective courses for new 7th and 8th grade students are described under Course Descriptions. Student interest in elective course offerings will be evaluated mid-year in order to anticipate staffing needs. Student requests are made available to parents via email and on ASPIRE in August of the new school year.

9th
Registration for 9th-grade courses will be reviewed individually with each students' parent(s) and a UMS counselor.
